Mr. Yin Yu received his dual bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2014, in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China in 2015, and earned his master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2016. He has been working in Karma Auto as the lead CFD engineer and aerodynamicist with extensive experiences in drag/noise reduction device design, high performance computing infrastructure, as well as wind tunnel validation experiments. In 2019, he decided to pursue an advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a strong interest in the modeling and design of electric Vertical TakeOff Landing (eVTOL) vehicles, a new class of aircraft for aerial city transportation, known as Urban Air Mobility (UAM). Besides a seasoned engineer, Yin is also a professional photographer and an avid aviator.
