At the recent Vertical Flight Society’s 82nd Annual Forum (VFS82), we presented our work on the optimization of rotor blade structures, supported by a VLRCOE task. Continuing our prior work, we not only incorporate manufacturability of the composite struture into the optimization problem, but also manufacture the structure to test and validate the design.
The work is done jointly with Dr. Edward Smith from Aerospace.
